For more than 1,000 years Southwell Minster has been a place of warm welcome, inspiring worship and spiritual refreshment. This Cathedral seeks a Dean who will work in partnership to create a vibrant and sustainable future for the next millennium.

The next Dean of Southwell will be:

A community builder and leader of considered change, who can discern and implement a vision for mission.
An experienced missional leader, enabling the growth of a vibrant worshipping life within the Minster, and engaging further in the mission of the wider diocese in growing disciples of Christ.
A capable steward, confident in working with experts to conserve and interpret a significant centre of Christian heritage for the short and long term.
A gifted teacher and preacher with theological depths who can inspire confidence across the diverse church and community contexts in the city and county, using the convening power of the minster as a focus for unity in the gospel.

We are committed to nurturing a culture that engages generously with people of all backgrounds, ages and ethnicities around the diocese and encourage applications from a diverse range of candidates. Previous cathedral experience is desirable but not essential.
